Loomis Family Vineyards

Roger entered the wine industry in 1989, establishing the first vineyard under Ledgewood Vineyards.

In the decades since, he has directly developed, grown and managed many small-block, ultra-premium vineyards in Suisun Valley AVA and Napa Valley AVA, including King Andrews Vineyards and Shale Peak Vineyards.

When Jeff met Roger and learned of his expertise in developing small-block hillside and mountain vineyards, he knew he'd be an ideal partner in his quest.

Roger's extensive background also includes wine production forecasting, supply/demand analysis and industry trends analysis, as well as direct experience with public issues surrounding vineyard and winery development.

Roger formed the Suisun Valley Grape Growers Association in 2003, serving as president and board member since its inception. He has also served as board member of the North Coast Grape Growers Association, now merged into California Association of Winegrape Growers, and currently serves on the California Farm Bureau Federation Grape Commodity Advisory Committee.

He also serves as president of Appellation America, a web-based publication focused on the regional character of wines based upon the influence of the terroir they’re grown in.
